Gulfport, Florida, is home to metal artist Eric Folsom, who creates unique art pieces using bronze and copper. Folsom’s connection to Gulfport began when he was an infant, as his father was a pastor in the city.
Artistic Inspiration
Folsom’s artistic journey started in fourth grade when a teacher encouraged him to pursue his creative interests. Today, he uses a torch with a 7,000-degree flame to heat, shape, and weld metal into intricate designs, including mermaids, zodiac signs, and Tampa Bay Rays-inspired artwork.
Folsom’s work can be found at various galleries, including Florida CraftArt in downtown St. Petersburg, the Dunedin Fine Art Center, and DRV Gallery in Gulfport. He can also be met in person on Sundays at Stella’s Sundries in Gulfport.
