Norwich officials reported a fatal single-car crash on Taftville-Occum Road around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Bystanders who heard the crash rushed to the scene and began CPR on the male driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
According to officials, the driver was sent to the hospital and pronounced dead around 9:30 a.m. Norwich Police, Norwich Fire Department, Occum Fire Department, and American Ambulance responded to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact Officer Brandon Wisniewski.
