Kia Motors and nearly 800 of its independent dealers have expanded their national charitable effort known as “Accelerate the Good.” In 2026 the automaker contributed $2 million directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ensuring families facing a cancer diagnosis will not receive bills for medical care, housing or food during treatment.
Dealer‑matched donations reach new milestones
The program, now in its fifth year, matches dealer contributions to a range of nonprofit partners. In addition to St. Jude, participating dealers have donated to No Kid Hungry, Toys for Tots, Operation Homefront and other groups focused on children’s health, hunger relief, disaster response and veterans’ well‑being.
Collectively, the dealer network has contributed more than $7.7 million to St. Jude over the past four years, a figure Kia cites as a key indicator of the initiative’s growing impact.
Employee volunteers add hands‑on support
Beyond financial gifts, Kia employees across the United States have organized volunteer activities such as community pantry stocking, beach clean‑ups and clothing drives. These efforts complement the monetary donations and demonstrate a broader corporate commitment to local service.
Leadership comments on the program’s purpose
“The continued success of our ‘Accelerate the Good’ initiative reflects the shared commitment of Kia and our nationwide retailer network to invest in the communities we serve,” said SeungKyu (Sean) Yoon, president and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America. “Together, we are proud to support organizations that deliver lifesaving care, strengthen families, fight hunger and create meaningful opportunities for people across the country.”
Looking ahead
With Childhood Cancer Awareness Month approaching in September, Kia plans to highlight the partnership with St. Jude and encourage additional dealer participation. The company directs readers to its website for more information on how the “Accelerate the Good” program operates and how individuals can get involved.
