Inglewood residents are finding a way to make some extra money during the 2026 FIFA World Cup by renting out their parking spaces to attendees. With thousands of people flocking to Los Angeles Stadium, also known as SoFi Stadium, for the World Cup matches, residents who live near the venue are offering parking spots in their driveways for a lower price than what parking garages are charging.
Parking Prices
According to digital parking reservation sites, some parking garages near the stadium are charging as much as $300 for game-day parking. In contrast, residents who live in neighborhoods near the venue are seeking anywhere from $50 to $80 for their parking spots, which may be a bargain compared to other lots.
One Inglewood resident, who wished not to be identified, disclosed how much she can make if she allows others to use her private parking. "So, for me, personally, I have about three to four spots. Let's say I rent those three for $50, I could make easily $150," she said.
City Warning
However, the Inglewood Parking & Traffic Department warns that it could issue citations to homeowners who charge for their parking without the proper permits. According to the city, renting out private parking spaces for events requires a commercial parking permit and a business license.
