A shooting occurred at the Haywood Mall in Greenville, South Carolina, on Saturday, resulting in two victims being transported to the hospital with injuries. The Greenville Police Department and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office are working to clear the mall.

According to reports, several individuals have been detained, and no other shots have been fired since officers arrived at the scene. The mall will remain closed until further notice.

Officers have set up a designated area on the ground floor of the parking garage at Dillard’s as a pickup spot for anyone who was dropped off at the mall. Greenlink is providing a bus with air conditioning for people to wait in and stay cool.

People who were inside the mall at the time of the shooting reported hearing gunshots and being placed on lockdown for a while. Many of them are now standing on the outskirts of the mall in the parking lot, calling loved ones to let them know they are okay.
