Authorities are investigating after human remains were discovered in a wooded area of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Police said the remains were found July 30 near the intersection of Tilton and Delilah roads.
According to investigators, a local resident found a portion of a skeleton. New Jersey State Police’s cadaver canine unit then helped locate additional remains nearby.
The identity of the person and the cause and manner of death remain unknown pending a forensic examination. Police say there does not appear to be any public safety concern resulting from this discovery.
