Crespo is considering ways to help, including sending water to the island or traveling there to assist. Lisette Colon, a leader for the Connecticut Puerto Rico Commission, emphasized that the crisis is not just an emergency response issue but also an infrastructure, economic development, and public health issue that requires serious attention.
The Puerto Rican community in Connecticut is calling for help for the island, highlighting the essential need for water as a basic necessity of life. As Crespo noted, ‘Puerto Rico is another one of our community members. Let’s help them out as well.’
