Colorado-based Flexential announced Tuesday that it purchased 110 acres in Kaufman County and plans to build its fourth and largest data center campus in North Texas. The site, located in Talty, is expected to begin construction in early 2027.
Data Center Details
The first phase of the project includes a 375,000-square-foot building capable of supporting 36 megawatts of capacity, with room for two additional 36-megawatt buildings. The company expects the first customers to move in during late 2028.
Flexential said the facility will use high-efficiency power systems and closed-loop cooling designed to achieve a target water usage effectiveness (WUE) of zero while reducing energy consumption.
Local Impact
Talty officials stated that the city has no regulatory authority over the site because it is no longer within the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. The city said the property was released from its ETJ earlier this year under state law after a petition was filed with Kaufman County.
The announcement from Flexential comes as developers plan a number of data center projects in Kaufman County. Nearby cities have begun debating how to regulate future development.
