Katherine Quinones, a Denton native and alumna of Denton High School, has been appointed as the new executive director of the Denton Public School Foundation. The foundation, which was founded in 1995, raises funds and provides support to Denton ISD students and teachers.
Quinones has over a decade of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement. She currently serves as the senior development manager at the United Way of Denton County and has also worked in stewardship roles at House of Shine Inc. and Texas Woman’s University.
Supporting Local Education
According to Denton ISD Superintendent Susannah O’Bara, the Denton Public School Foundation plays a vital role in enriching the educational experience for students and supporting teachers and staff. Quinones’ appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the foundation’s ability to invest in the students and educators who make Denton ISD exceptional.
The foundation has awarded nearly $3.5 million in grants to teachers, staff scholarships, and special programs, and has also provided nearly $1.5 million in scholarship funding to outgoing Denton ISD seniors. Quinones will begin her new role on July 6.
