Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts acknowledged that his party has failed to provide a clear immigration plan, instead relying on opposition to former President Donald Trump. Moulton made the comments on MS NOW’s ‘Money, Power, Politics’ while discussing the party’s challenges in Arizona’s gubernatorial primary.
Immigration Plan Criticized
‘We don’t have a plan for immigration. We’re not able to say what, actually, Democrats should do to fix the problem,’ Moulton said. ‘All we are is opposition to Trump.’ Moulton also faulted Democrats for dismissing other voter concerns, including inflation, during the Biden administration.
Moulton outlined his own approach to immigration, calling for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), prosecution of officials who break the law, and reforms encouraging legal immigration. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive immigration reform that secures the border, curbs illegal immigration, expands legal pathways, and provides a path to citizenship.
