A bear family was spotted using Palmer Lake as their own personal kiddie pool. Colorado Parks and Wildlife posted a video of the bears cooling off.
Bears Find Ways to Beat the Heat
According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, a mama bear and her two cubs took a dip to help cool off. Humans have functional sweat glands that help them cool off, but bears don’t, so they find other ways to cool off, such as laying in the shade or splashing in the lake.
The playful behavior seen by the cubs in the video also helps them develop strength and coordination to survive on their own.
