The WYO Performing Arts and Education Center’s WYO PLAY is offering two youth theater camps this summer focused on both backstage production and onstage performance.
Stagecraft Camp
Stagecraft Camp, scheduled for July 20-24, will introduce students entering sixth through eighth grades to the behind-the-scenes aspects of theater. Participants will learn about playwriting, makeup, costumes, scenic design, props, lighting and sound design during the five-day camp. Enrollment is limited to 15 campers.
Put on a Play Camp
A week later, Put on a Play Camp will take place July 27-31 for students entering third through fifth grades. Campers will spend the week rehearsing a unique adaptation of Alice in Wonderland in preparation for a performance. Enrollment is limited to 20 campers.
Cost for both camps is $250 per camper. Financial aid options are available for qualifying families.
