Woodland Resident Deborah “Debbie” Adams, Christian Author, Dies at 80

Deborah “Debbie” Adams, a beloved member of the Woodland community, died on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the age of 80. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, to David F. and Elmarine R. Bullard, she spent much of her early life moving between South Carolina, California, and Washington before settling permanently in Woodland.

Family and Early Years

Debbie met her future husband, Chuck Adams, while he was stationed at Shaw Air Force Base. The couple married in 1967 and enjoyed a 56‑year partnership that produced two sons, Charles Jr. and Christopher. She was the youngest of four siblings, with a brother, Greg, an older sister, Barbara, and an older brother, Stanley.

Education and Career

After completing high school, Debbie earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in literature from the University of South Carolina. In the early 1980s the family moved to Orlando, Florida, where Chuck worked as a drummer at Walt Disney World. Debbie also took on several roles at Disney before launching her own professional writing and editing business.

During the 1980s and 1990s, Debbie built a reputation as a top resume writer, developing a proprietary format that helped thousands of job seekers, especially those in technical and specialty fields, secure employment. Her expertise earned her a respected place in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association after the family returned to Washington State in 2002.

Faith and Writing

In retirement, Debbie turned her writing talents toward her faith. In 2019 she published her first Christian devotional book, *My God, He Is Magnificent*, which has been praised for its heartfelt reflections and scriptural insight. The book reflects her lifelong commitment to encouraging others both professionally and spiritually.

Community Impact

Debbie’s contributions extended beyond her professional achievements. She was an active participant in local church activities, mentored aspiring writers, and volunteered her time to help community members improve their job applications. Her kindness, generosity, and steadfast Christian faith left an indelible mark on the residents of Woodland.

Surviving Family

Debbie is survived by her two sons, Charles Jr. and Christopher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, who passed away in 2023.

Legacy

Friends and neighbors remember Debbie as a devoted mother, a skilled writer, and a faithful Christian who used her talents to uplift others. A memorial service will be held at the local church, with details to be announced by the family.
