A woman is in the hospital after being shot while on an Amtrak train passing through Wilson on Saturday night. According to the Wilson Police Department, deputies with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office were called to reports of gunshots involving the train around 11:15 p.m.
Investigation Ongoing
When they arrived, they found a woman on the train with a gunshot wound to her head. Deputies said the woman was alert and conscious when first responders arrived at the scene, and EMS took her to ECU Health Medical Center for treatment. The Wilson Police Department believes the initial shooting happened in the 600 block of Walnut Street and is asking anyone with information related to the case to come forward.
