University of Oklahoma Sooners Head to Atlanta for NCAA Baseball Regional

The University of Oklahoma’s baseball team is gearing up for an exciting NCAA postseason as they head to Atlanta for regional play. The Sooners, holding a 32-21 record, have earned the two-seed in the regional hosted by Georgia Tech, the No. 2 overall team. This marks the fifth consecutive regional appearance for the Sooners and their 43rd overall, showcasing a strong tradition under the leadership of Coach Skip Johnson.

The regional in Atlanta is one of 16 being held across the nation, each a stepping stone on the road to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The Sooners will face The Citadel, a three-seed, in their opening game scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday. The regional also includes four-seed UIC, adding to the competitive lineup.

  • Saturday, May 30: Game 3: Game 1 Loser vs. Game 2 Loser; Game 4: Game 1 Winner vs. Game 2 Winner.
  • Sunday, May 31: Game 5: Game 3 Winner vs. Game 4 Loser; Game 6: Game 4 Winner vs. Game 5 Winner.
  • Monday, June 1: Game 7: Game 6 Winner vs. Game 6 Loser (if necessary).
