A 17-year-old boy has died after a crash involving a moped and a truck in New London on Sunday evening, police said. The accident occurred in the area of Ocean Avenue and Beech Drive around 5:08 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found the injured 17-year-old moped rider and began providing medical aid. He was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity will not be released at this time because he is a juvenile, police said.
The truck remained at the scene following the crash, according to police. The New London Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded and is investigating what led to the crash.
