Small business owners from across the country traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with lawmakers about crucial issues affecting their businesses. The NFIB D.C. Fly-In event provided opportunities for small business owners to discuss repealing Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting and lowering credit card swipe fees with lawmakers.
Key Issues Discussed
U.S. Representative Brad Finstad (MN-01) spoke about the security concerns surrounding the personally identifiable data previously submitted to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) by U.S. businesses. U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (KS) discussed legislation to lower credit card swipe fees. U.S. Representative Mark Messmer (IN-08) shared his support for stopping the federal Heat Standard mandate.
Other speakers included Kelly Loeffler, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and political analyst Jim Ellis of the Ellis Insight Report. Small business owners were able to have productive conversations with lawmakers from over 140 offices on the top issues and concerns.
