A new roller skating rink, Skate America, is set to open in late August on New Boston Road in Texarkana, Texas. The rink’s owner, Quinn Jefferson, had been waiting for zoning approval, which was recently granted by the City Council.
Special Use Permit Approved
The City Council approved a special use permit for the rink, which includes stipulations such as requiring an adult to sign for responsibility for customers under 18 and having a licensed security officer present when the business is open and occupied after 7 p.m. Jefferson plans to have a full-time security guard on site from opening to closing.
