Isaac Apodaca has been convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder after manipulating his ex-girlfriend, Kiara McCulley, into killing Grace Jennings with a sword in Santa Fe in 2022.
Trial Details
During the six-day trial, hundreds of text messages, crime scene evidence, forensic findings, and expert testimony demonstrating Apodaca’s involvement in planning and facilitating Grace Jennings’ murder were introduced by the state. McCulley pleaded guilty to aggravated second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in February 2025 and is currently serving 30 years.
Apodaca was remanded into custody after his conviction and is facing up to life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for August 24, 2026.
