Orlando native Josef Wright was named a finalist for the Jimmy Awards for his performance of ‘How It Ends’ from ‘Big Fish.’ Wright earned a $5,000 scholarship from the Nederlander Organization.

Wright is a rising junior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville. He made his Broadway debut at the Jimmy Awards representing the Applause Awards and was one of eight finalists at the Jimmy Awards.
The Applause Awards, presented by the Dr. Philips Center, is a regional high school musical theater competition in Central Florida. The 12th annual Applause Awards were held on May 30. Winning or being nominated for this award is the qualifying step to compete at the national Jimmy Awards.
