The Oklahoma History Center is inviting visitors to explore ‘Moments That Made Us,’ a new exhibit highlighting pivotal moments in American history, as part of the America 250 commemoration.
Exhibit Details
Nicole Harvey, director of the Oklahoma History Center, said, ‘It is part of the source exhibit at History Colorado. That reviewed 50 moments in American history that made us, and this exhibit takes about 15 to 16 of those moments and utilizes the Declaration of Independence, kind of the headers of different categories.’ The exhibit’s central theme is the Declaration of Independence, with each panel examining defining moments through thematic lenses. Visitors are encouraged to consider multiple perspectives on each topic.
The exhibit was originally created by History Colorado, where its popularity led to the development of a print version now available in Oklahoma. Organizations across the state can request the exhibit to participate in the America 250 commemoration.
The museum is also offering an exhibit reflecting on Oklahoma’s bicentennial celebration in 1976. Both exhibits will remain on display through the end of the summer and are included with regular museum admission.
