A New Hampshire man was seriously injured when his SUV crashed on Interstate 293 south in Manchester. The driver, 44-year-old Michael Meucci of Salem, was distracted by an unrestrained dog in his vehicle.
Crash Details
The preliminary investigation determined that Meucci lost control of his Volvo XC-90 while exiting the F.E. Everett Turnpike off-ramp onto I-293 south. The vehicle rolled over multiple times before coming to rest on its roof. Meucci wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time and was thrown from his vehicle through the sunroof. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
Traffic on I-293 was reduced to one lane for about 45 minutes while the scene was investigated and cleared. Firefighters from Bedford and Manchester and workers with the state Department of Transportation assisted state police at the scene.
