Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) will host a TSA PreCheck enrollment event this July in collaboration with IDEMIA, a TSA PreCheck authorized enrollment provider. This event provides travelers with a convenient local opportunity to enroll or renew their membership.
TSA PreCheck Benefits
The aim is to offer a smoother airport experience for those flying during the summer. The enrollment event is taking place at 2252 Jesse Butler Circle, in the terminal conference room across from baggage claim. Applicants must provide identity and citizenship documents, have their fingerprints and a photo captured and pay the application fee. If approved, the $76.75 fee provides a five-year membership to the TSA PreCheck program.
Completing the application online beforehand can make the in-person appointment even faster. Following the in-person enrollment, most applicants receive their Known Traveler Number (KTN) in about three to five days. The KTN must be added to flight reservations to utilize TSA PreCheck benefits.
Airport Director Zachary Bass expressed enthusiasm for the event. “We’re excited to bring TSA PreCheck enrollment back to RDM this July, giving summer travelers a convenient way to speed up their airport experience,” Bass said. “We encourage anyone flying soon to take advantage of this local pop-up event—it’s the easiest time of year to enroll.”
TSA PreCheck was created in October 2011 to provide low-risk travelers with a smoother experience through airport security. Members have access to dedicated screening lanes at more than 200 participating U.S. airports nationwide, where 99% of members wait 10 minutes or less in a screening lane. Passengers can keep their shoes, belts and light jackets on and leave laptops, 3-one-one liquids and food items in their bags.
