Alexis Hardy was hiking with her partner, Tim Dupere, on New Hampshire’s Mount Kearsarge when she suffered an injury to her lower leg. As she was being carried out by rescuers, Dupere proposed to her with an engagement ring.
Rescue Operation
The rescue team, which included first responders from Warner, Hopkinton, and the Fish and Game Department, carried Hardy up to the top of the mountain and down another trail to a waiting ambulance. She was taken to Concord Hospital for treatment.
The couple posed for pictures with rescuers, who offered their congratulations. The proposal was a surprise to everyone, including the rescue team.
