A local Navy veteran, Jim Serger, is embarking on a cross-country journey to raise money for the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, which was created to help first responders and veterans after 9/11. Serger, who has dedicated his life to sharing people’s stories from that tragic day, will be biking from California to New York, kicking off his journey on Wednesday.
Tunnels to Towers Foundation
The Tunnels to Towers Foundation has given away nearly 2000 mortgage-free homes across the country and has removed over 10,000 homeless veterans from the streets through their veteran villages. Serger’s journey aims to raise money for this foundation and to honor the memories of those who lost their lives on 9/11.
Serger has been training for this journey since November and has already covered over 6000 miles. He will be riding for his local community, the Cincinnati Fire Department, and for all the firefighters in the United States. His family, including his wife, has been very supportive of his mission.
