At a June 1 meeting, the Missouri City City Council approved an interlocal agreement with METRO to reconstruct the Hunters Glen Park Trail project. The project will include an all-weather, ADA-accessible paved trail for pedestrians, cyclists, and persons using wheelchairs.
Project Details
The city received $1.1 million in federal funds for the project, which must be completed by September 30, 2026. To speed up the grant agreement process, the city asked METRO to be the grant recipient, allowing them to pass through the funds to Missouri City using a subrecipient agreement.
The Hunters Glen Park Trail connects to METRO’s 98 Briargate transit routes and will offer further access to seven neighborhoods, two schools, a Fort Bend County Library, two parks, and Missouri City Hall. Reconstruction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
