Cincinnati’s riverfront may soon be home to a new mini golf course. City leaders have announced a proposed partnership with real estate firm Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate to bring a mini golf course to The Banks.
Location and Details
The course would be located at 55 E. Freedom Way, in front of the Underground Railroad Freedom Center, where the Skystar Wheel used to be. The agreement would be for a three-year lease, with the golf course being temporary as long-term plans for The Banks continue.
Mayor Aftab Pureval expressed excitement about the proposal, stating that it could bring more life and activation to the area, attracting families and visitors of all ages. The proposal includes commitments to generating financial benefits to the Freedom Center throughout the 3-year lease.
Community Reaction
Hamilton County Commission President Stephanie Summerow Dumas praised the proposal, saying it would be a fun, welcoming space for families, friends, and neighbors to make memories together. The next step in the process will be to bring the proposal before the Planning Commission on July 17.
