A fire at The Curb Bar & Grill in Meridian on Sunday morning has forced the restaurant to close until further notice. The fire, which was reported at approximately 10:39 a.m., caused significant damage to the kitchen area and prompted the evacuation of the building.
Fire Department Response
The Meridian Fire Department responded quickly to the scene, with crews arriving in just four minutes. Firefighters had difficulty locating the source of the fire initially, but were eventually able to identify the problem in the kitchen area.
Fortunately, all occupants of the building were safely evacuated, and there were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported. Neighboring businesses, including Lovejoy Ice Cream and Red Pavilion, experienced minor smoke damage but are expected to reopen immediately.
The Curb Bar & Grill has been a popular local spot for years, offering a range of food and drink options, as well as a venue for watching local sporting events. The restaurant is locally owned and operated, and employs many local residents.
