Lara Logan to Host Free Screening of ‘Don’t Sharia My Texas’ Ahead of RNC Midterm Convention in Dallas

Dallas residents and visitors will have a chance to see the documentary Remember the Alamo: Don’t Sharia My Texas on Wednesday, September 9, the opening day of the Republican National Committee’s first‑ever midterm convention. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the W Dallas Living Room Bar, 2440 Victory Park Lane, directly across from Victory Plaza and just steps from the American Airlines Center where the convention’s official programming begins at 3 p.m.

Event details and featured speakers

Admission is complimentary, but attendees must RSVP through Eventbrite. After the screening, a panel discussion will feature journalist Lara Logan, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, former U.S. Rep. Allen West (R‑Fla.), former FBI special agent John Guandolo, filmmaker Burgard, and Dallas Express co‑founder Sarah Zubiate‑Bennett. The panel will explore the documentary’s central claim that political Islam poses a threat to constitutional liberty, religious freedom, public safety, women’s rights and other core American values.

Documentary background

The film, directed by Burgard and produced by Tim Lowry, premiered June 28 at Dallas’ Angelika Film Center and received a digital release on July 4. It frames the historic Alamo as a symbol of resistance and argues that Sharia‑related influence seeks to undermine the Constitution’s protections. Through interviews and historical commentary, the filmmakers present a narrative that aligns with the Trump administration’s emphasis on defending religious liberty and the rule of law.

Why the event matters locally

Dallas is hosting the RNC’s two‑day midterm convention, which will feature President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and other Republican leaders. By holding the screening and panel in the city, local conservatives gain a forum to discuss how national policy on religious liberty and immigration intersects with everyday life in Texas neighborhoods. The event also underscores Dallas’ role as a hub for the party’s outreach to families and faith‑based communities.

About Lara Logan

Logan brings more than three decades of journalism experience to the discussion. After a 16‑year tenure at CBS News, where she served as chief foreign affairs correspondent and reported for 60 Minutes, she now hosts the podcast Going Rogue with Lara Logan. Her reputation for hard‑hitting reporting and her outspoken stance against political Islam make her a natural fit for the documentary’s message.

Local participation

Dallas residents interested in defending constitutional rights and supporting the upcoming RNC convention are encouraged to attend. The event’s free nature reflects the community‑first spirit of the HyperLocal Loop, offering a chance for families, faith groups, and civic leaders to gather, learn, and engage in respectful dialogue.
