A prominent Hialeah political activist, Ernesto Martin, has been arrested in an undercover prostitution sting. According to investigators, Martin responded to an online ad for escort services and made a verbal agreement to pay for sex. He was then directed to a prearranged meeting location, where he handed an undercover officer $60 before being taken into custody.
Personal Responsibility
Martin has spoken out about the incident, stating that he is taking accountability for his actions. In an interview with NBC6, he said, ‘You know, something that maybe seemed as normal doesn’t mean that it’s legal.’ He also posted a message on Instagram, writing in part, ‘I am a human being with strengths and flaws. I can promise you I will always face things head-on, accept the consequences of my actions, and work every day to become a better man.’
Martin has been active in Hialeah politics and community campaigns, including working alongside Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo. However, he emphasized that this was a personal decision and that no one else should be blamed. He said, ‘I’ve always criticized. You know, everyone who does things the wrong way, and in this case, now it was me.’
