A midday collision involving three vehicles at a major Hernando County intersection sent four people to the hospital with serious injuries on Friday afternoon.
Crash Details
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 3:00 PM on July 3, 2026, at the intersection of Treiman Boulevard and State Road 50 (Cortez Boulevard). A 45-year-old man from Hudson was driving a Toyota Tacoma northbound on Treiman Boulevard when he failed to stop for a steady red traffic signal and entered the intersection.
The Toyota Tacoma’s front end slammed into the left side of a Chevy Bolt, which was occupied by a 57-year-old woman from Winter Garden and her two passengers—a 61-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both also from Winter Garden. The front of a westbound Ford Ranger struck the rear of the Tacoma.
The impact resulted in severe injuries for the majority of those involved. The driver of the Ford Ranger, a 32-year-old man from Groveland, walked away with minor injuries.
