A man has been arrested and charged after APD detectives seized a large quantity of illegal fireworks in Albuquerque. The investigation began after an anonymous tip, and APD’s Organized Crime Unit was able to identify the suspect through social media, conducted surveillance, and used an undercover officer to purchase the illegal fireworks before serving a search warrant.
Officers want to remind the public that illegal fireworks are not just against the law, but they’re unpredictable, highly explosive, and can cause catastrophic fires, serious injuries, or even death. Selling large quantities of these fireworks can put entire neighborhoods at risk.
