Eustis police have announced the arrest of a second 15-year-old in connection with drive-by shootings that occurred last week. The shootings happened within 90 minutes of each other in Eustis, with the first incident occurring at 701 E. Hazzard Ave. and the second on Lake Avenue.
Investigation Details
According to Eustis police Chief Craig Capri, the shootings are related and stemmed from a beef that started on Memorial Day weekend in Daytona Beach. The latest arrest brings the total number of arrests to four, with five suspects wanted in total. Those arrested include 18-year-old Jordan Hayes and 18-year-old Elijah Hood, who face various charges related to the shootings.
No injuries were reported in either shooting. The Eustis Police Department is currently engaged in an operation called ‘Summer Heat,’ which involves increased patrols in areas with known violence or drug activity.
