The Casper City Council has voted to authorize $1.3 million in Community Development Block Grant dollars to fund siding repairs and rehabilitation at the Juniper Ridge Apartments.
Grant Funding and Objectives
The funding originates from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant program, which is overseen by the Wyoming Community Development Authority through its Neighborhood Development Program. The project is designed to meet federal objectives by providing a benefit to low-to-moderate income residents.
According to Community Development Director Liz Becher, the Wyoming Housing Network will act as the sub-recipient responsible for the actual repair and rehabilitation work. As a condition for the release of the funds, city staff participated in mandatory training provided by the WCDA.
