The Korean Golf Club has announced a lineup change as Doyeob Mun, the current leader in KPGA Tour Genesis points, will replace Danny Lee for at least the next two LIV Golf events. This change comes as the club prepares for its upcoming tournament in South Korea.
New Addition to Korean GC
Doyeob Mun, 34, who competes on both the KPGA Tour and the Asian Tour, will be officially introduced at a team press conference on Tuesday. The Korean Golf Club expressed their excitement on social media, welcoming Mun to their team.
The first event Mun will participate in is the LIV Golf Korea tournament, set to begin on Thursday at the Asiad Country Club in Busan. This event marks an important opportunity for Mun to showcase his skills on an international stage.
Current Team and Performance
The Korean Golf Club, which currently ranks last out of 13 teams in the LIV Golf series, includes captain Byeong Hun An, Younghan Song, and Minkyu Kim. Danny Lee, who is moving to a wild-card role, has had a notable career with a win at the 2015 Greenbrier Classic on the PGA Tour and a victory at the LIV Golf Tucson event in 2023.
Lee’s best finish in the current LIV Golf season was a tie for 32nd place at the Adelaide event in February. His shift to a wild-card role opens the door for Mun to make an impact and potentially improve the team’s standing in the series.
