A DoorDash driver was attacked with a baseball bat in Jacksonville, North Carolina, after she honked at a Range Rover that was stopped at a red light.
The 34-year-old delivery driver gave a friendly honk to get the show on the road so she could do her job and deliver an order. However, the driver of the Range Rover took offense to the honk and decided to repay the courtesy by following her and hitting her upside the head with a wooden bat.
Attack Details
The DoorDash driver says she was followed to her delivery and the Range Rover drove by as she conducted her business. However, the Range Rover returned as she was walking back to her car, and the driver hit her in the head with a wooden bat. She was knocked out from the blow to the head.
Once the DoorDash driver regained consciousness, she drove herself to the hospital. The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office is now looking for the Range Rover driver, who is still at large.
Sheriff Chris Thomas said, ‘There does not appear to be a clear motive, the only one we have at this moment is possibly road rage, however that’s an assumption at this point.’ The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
