Drivers in Citrus County should prepare for travel delays this week as roadwork crews begin scheduled lane closures along sections of U.S. 19 and U.S. 41.
Lane Closures
Along U.S. 19 / U.S. 98, crews will close the northbound right lane between Northeast 2nd Avenue and North Citrus Avenue, just north of the Crosstown Trail. The overnight closures run from Sunday, August 16 through Thursday, August 20, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night.
Motorists traveling on U.S. 41 (North Florida Avenue) will encounter daytime lane closures at East 127th Avenue. Work at this intersection is scheduled Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21, with closures in place daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists to exercise caution when driving through active work zones, obey posted speed limits, and anticipate potential traffic backups during active construction hours.
