Michelin-star chef Jacob Bickelhaupt appeared in a Palm Beach County courtroom, where his wife, Nadia Bickelhaupt, joined the proceedings via Zoom for the first time in his ongoing legal case. Prosecutors said Nadia continues to suffer and is receiving treatment following the night in 2025 when Bickelhaupt allegedly beat her for two hours.
Due to her medical condition, prosecutors requested to perpetuate her testimony, meaning it would be recorded ahead of time. The judge raised concerns about the timing of the request, stating it might be premature before the discovery process is complete.
The judge denied the prosecution’s request for now but noted that prosecutors are working to obtain a doctor’s note to support a potential future request for pre-recorded testimony. The judge also stressed the importance of resolving the case without unnecessary delays.
The next status check in the case is scheduled for August 17.
