A man is dead following a shooting Wednesday morning in Boston. Police responded to a call for a shooting around 10:15 a.m. at 514 Blue Hill Avenue. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
Officials do not believe this was a random shooting, and the suspect and victim were known to each other. Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and surveillance video.
The shooting occurred on the same day that the Downtown Boston Neighborhood Association is set to host a summit to address the recent spike in violence in the city.
