Tradition Lakes K-8 School in St. Lucie County will not open as scheduled on August 10. The school’s opening has been delayed by one week, with the new start date set for August 17.
Reason for Delay
According to St. Lucie Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jon R. Prince, the delay is necessary to give teachers and staff sufficient time to complete final preparations. Prince stated that he did not feel the staff had enough time to adequately prepare the school for students and parents.
The district will provide community childcare options for families during the week of August 10-14. An Open House is scheduled for Friday, August 14, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., allowing families to meet teachers and tour the campus before the first day of school.
