Baltimore’s restaurant scene is heating up with new openings and events. Chef Spike Gjerde has opened Café Terracotta on the East Baltimore campus of Johns Hopkins, serving pastries and a Mediterranean lunch menu.
New Openings
Nora Blu, a Mediterranean restaurant, has opened in Mt. Vernon to great fanfare. Atlas Restaurant Group’s new Annapolis ventures, Marmo and Armada, will officially open on July 16.
NEATFREAK, a martini bar, is opening in the former home of Greyhound Tavern in Fells Point. Linwood’s will be closed for lunch service from July 28-31 for renovations, but dinner service will continue uninterrupted.
Events
Pendry Baltimore is hosting live music at the pool on Friday and Saturday nights, with a Maryland-themed menu. Magdalena has a new cocktail menu inspired by classic movies filmed in Baltimore.
The Maryland German Festival will be held on July 11-12 at the Fairgrounds in Timonium, featuring German heritage and culture. The Asia in a Bite food festival returns to the Baltimore Peninsula on July 11-12, with over 40 food vendors serving pan-Asian fare.
Bastille Day celebrations will be held at Petit Louis and La Jetée, with live music and special menus. Chefs Expressions will host a Bastille Day wine supper on July 16, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Judgement of Paris.
