Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary, a local animal shelter, is seeking a temporary permit to relocate to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Green Bay. The sanctuary’s previous building was condemned after its roof caved in, displacing 47 cats.
Temporary Solution
The church has offered the sanctuary significant space, and the city of Green Bay has indicated that it can issue a temporary use permit. However, the permit is contingent on the new use not substantially changing the current use of the site.
The sanctuary is actively searching for a permanent location while working to secure its temporary one. If the move into St. Paul’s is approved, it will once again be open to the public. The community has shown support for the sanctuary, with a GoFundMe raising over $60,000 for a new building.
