An Alabama man accused of shooting at law enforcement during a high-speed chase through eastern Iowa will represent himself at trial. A judge approved the request from Samuel Reese III, who faces more than a dozen felony charges.
According to investigators, Reese stole a vehicle in Cedar Falls and reached speeds of 153 miles per hour. He fired at officers before crashing, and his trial is set for August 17.
