Alexander Zverev has risen to No. 2 in the world tennis rankings, following his back-to-back stellar Grand Slam performances. Zverev won the French Open last month and reached the Wimbledon final before falling to Jannik Sinner.
Tennis Rankings Update
Zverev’s strong showings have elevated him to the second spot, ahead of injured Carlos Alcaraz. The ATP rankings revealed Monday have Zverev inching into second, with Alcaraz missing both the French Open and Wimbledon due to a wrist injury.
Zverev is aiming to turn the top twosome into a trio of top players, saying, ‘I think I’ve been pushing those guys. I haven’t beaten them this year, but I’ve pushed them to the limits, I would say.’ Since the start of 2024, Sinner and Alcaraz have won 10 of 11 Grand Slam titles — five apiece. Zverev is the only other winner during the span.
