Christopher O’Connor, chief executive of Yale New Haven Health System, is stepping down from his role, according to an announcement Monday. The health system’s current president, Pamela Sutton-Wallace, has been appointed acting CEO, effective immediately.
The board of trustees will conduct a national search to replace O’Connor over the next several months. O’Connor has worked at YNHH for 14 years and served as CEO since 2022. During his tenure as chief executive, O’Connor helped lead and oversee the health system’s acquisition of several hospitals.
Yale New Haven Health System is one of Connecticut’s largest health systems, with four hospitals in the state, over 6,600 affiliated physicians and more than $6 billion in net patient revenue.
