Wyoming Launches Fourth Round of Childcare Provider Grants

In an ongoing effort to bolster childcare services across Wyoming, the Interagency Working Group on Childcare has announced the opening of a fourth round of grants for childcare providers. These grants, administered by the Wyoming Community Foundation, are designed to enhance the sustainability of childcare services in the state, thereby supporting working parents and local businesses.

Supporting Families and Local Economies

Since its inception in 2025, the grant program has distributed nearly $235,000 to 29 childcare providers throughout Wyoming. This initiative is crucial as the state has witnessed a significant decline in licensed childcare providers over the past decade, dropping from 721 in 2014 to just 508 by November 2025. The shortage of childcare options not only affects families but also has broader implications for employers and the local economy.

The current round of grants will accept applications until July 15, 2026, with awards of up to $10,000 per applicant. The focus remains on expanding access to care, which is vital for enabling parents to participate in the workforce and for supporting the economic health of communities.

For those interested in applying, detailed information on the application process is available through the Wyoming Community Foundation’s website.
