Wyoming Hunger Initiative Launches Casper Volunteer Day

The Wyoming Hunger Initiative and Serve Wyoming will launch a volunteer event in Casper on June 26 to connect community members with local hunger relief efforts. The event, called Wyoming United: A Day to Celebrate Wyoming Working Together for a Better Wyoming, gives individuals, families and businesses an opportunity to work directly with organizations that address food insecurity.

Volunteer Opportunities

Organizers hope the day of service will introduce more people to volunteer roles and build lasting relationships with local groups. Participants can choose to work during two different service shifts. The first shift runs from 9 to 11 a.m. and the second shift runs from 2 to 4 p.m. Volunteers will receive a shirt and lunch at 11:30 a.m.

Jonah Bank of Wyoming is sponsoring the event, and Wyo-Print is providing the T-shirts. Community members can choose the organization they want to volunteer with on the registration form. First Lady Jennie Gordon said, “Volunteering is one of the most powerful ways to create meaningful change. While financial contributions are essential, volunteering brings personal time, talents, and energy directly to organizations serving Wyoming families. It strengthens communities, builds relationships, and inspires others to get involved.”
