With recent record-breaking highs in temperature, stress on fish has increased. Wyoming Game and Fish Department Sheridan Fisheries Biologist Andrew Nikirk urges anglers to ensure the temperatures of the waters in which they are fishing are cool enough to not stress or kill fish.
Anglers are advised to fish at higher elevation where there’s generally cooler air temperatures, cooler water temperatures. This can help reduce stress on fish during the heat of the summer.
