Wylie High School’s senior forward, Zach Alshali, has been honored with a selection to the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Class 6A Super Elite Team for boys soccer. This recognition comes as a testament to Alshali’s exceptional performance throughout the 2026 season, where he played a pivotal role in the success of the Wylie Pirates soccer team.

Outstanding Performance

Alshali, who had previously scored six goals as a junior, stepped up his game significantly this year. He became the team’s leading scorer with 21 goals and contributed three assists, showcasing his ability to handle a greater offensive workload. His efforts did not go unnoticed, as he was unanimously named the Most Valuable Player of District 9-6A.

Team Success

Alshali’s contributions were instrumental in leading the Pirates to an impressive 18-3-6 record. The team qualified for the playoffs for the third consecutive year and advanced to the regional semifinals. Although their season concluded with a narrow 2-1 loss to Klein Cain, the eventual Class 6A Division I state champions, Alshali’s performance was a highlight of the season.
