Two Suspects in Newport Shooting Appear in Court

In Newport, Kentucky, two of the three suspects involved in a shooting incident outside a local convenience store have made their initial court appearances. The shooting, which took place on May 9 near the Circle K at the intersection of 10th and Monmouth streets, left a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Fortunately, he was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is reported to be in stable condition.

Court Proceedings for Combs and Alford

The suspects, identified as Tiance Combs, 30, and Kortney Alford, 30, were apprehended in Lexington by United States Marshals last week. During their court appearance on Tuesday, Combs entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of attempted murder. Alford also pleaded not guilty, facing charges of facilitation of attempted murder. Both individuals are scheduled for preliminary hearings next week, where further legal proceedings will determine the course of their trials.

Ongoing Search for Third Suspect

Meanwhile, Newport Police continue their search for the third suspect, Terry Moses, 26. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Moses’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the investigation.
